About Suryatrips Homely Stay – Our Story
A Story Born in Kerala
The Suryatrips adventure began with a meeting and a friendship, inspired by a shared desire: to help travellers discover Kerala and South India differently, through a more authentic and personal travel experience.
In 2015, Fanny and Vishnu created Suryatrips together, an association of independent drivers based in Kerala. The idea was to enable travellers to explore the region with experienced local drivers while supporting a more personal form of tourism, closer to local life.

Since then, the team has grown and today enables several drivers to earn a living from their work and support their families.
Every journey also creates new encounters, human connections and opportunities for the local economy.
We warmly thank all the travellers who have placed their trust in us over the years and who, in their own way, have helped this adventure grow. A Team Between France and KeralaBased between France and Kerala, Fanny voluntarily helps travellers prepare their journey through Kerala and South India, sharing advice, itinerary ideas and suggestions for local experiences.
Vishnu coordinates the activities on the ground in India and ensures that everything runs smoothly for each traveller.
Having a presence in both France and Kerala allows us to preserve what has been at the heart of Suryatrips since the beginning: direct contact, local knowledge and a personalised approach to travel. From Suryatrips to Suryatrips Homely StayAfter more than 10 years of adventures, journeys and encounters, a new project naturally came to life: Suryatrips Homely Stay.
After spending many years helping travellers explore Kerala, we wanted to create our own place where we could welcome them ourselves.
This is how our small guesthouse in Thekkady – Periyar, one of Kerala’s most beautiful natural areas, was born. |
Our Cottages in Thekkady – Periyar
Located in Thekkady, near Periyar National Park, our three independent cottages welcome you to a peaceful, green setting just a few minutes from the Periyar National Park.
We wanted to create accommodation in Thekkady that is simple, comfortable and authentic, reflecting the spirit of Indian hospitality and the philosophy that has guided Suryatrips since its creation.
With only three cottages, Suryatrips Homely Stay is intentionally small and personal, allowing us to focus on tranquillity, friendly interactions and a warm, personalised welcome.
